Together with artist Amitai Romm, Djernes & Bell’s proposal ‘Lollands Ears’ has been selected as the winning entry in the two-stage competition for the site-specific land-art to mark the new Femern tunnel connection to Germany. 

he proposal is based on 3 monumental parabolic mirrors constructed out of upcycled and low-carbon materials. The ‘ears’ will listen to the slowly restoring landscape, and provide shelter and playful and unexpected interaction to the nature restoration and regenerating wildlife on site. 

The project is now in design and planning phases in close collaboration with The Danish Nature Agency, New Carlsberg Foundation and Realdania.
