Innovation workshop - unfired clay bricks

Djernes & Bell were invited to participate in an innovation workshop looking into the potential of oven dried clay bricks from existing industrial brick production. The workshop is part of a larger project investigating low-carbon materials across the entire value chain in Denmark. The workshop was hosted by Smith Innovation at Egernsund Weinerberger’s fjord side Helligsø Teglværk in Thy. 

Djernes & Bell gave a lecture on the history and potential of unfired clay and how they are using unfired clay in their current building projects. 

All participants agreed on the potential and are working collectively towards more testing and especially more demonstrator projects illustrating the clear benefits.
