Reyneke Winefarm

Agro-regional renovation of biodynamic winefarm & cellar, Stellenbosch

4000 sqm + 180ha
2025 -

Djernes & Bell are developing a renovation and expansion strategy for Reyneke Winefarm that aligns with its biodynamic practices and commitment to ecological stewardship. The project integrates regenerative design principles, using materials and construction techniques that reflect the farm’s deep connection to the land.

The renovation incorporates natural and locally sourced materials, including clays, soils, lime, and plant fibers, alongside the reuse and adaptation of existing structures. By combining traditional conservation methods with innovative material technologies, the project aims to enhance both the functionality and environmental performance of the buildings.

The transformation will support Reyneke’s viticultural operations while reinforcing the farm’s identity as a place where architecture, landscape, and biodynamic agriculture form a cohesive and sustainable whole.
